5 useless, 1 critically injured after Freeway 101 crash close to Falmouth

RCMP say 5 individuals are useless and one individual is in important situation after a crash Saturday evening on Freeway 101 in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley.

Workers Sgt. Maj. Deepak Prasad mentioned two autos had been travelling eastbound close to Falmouth on a twinned part of the freeway between exits 7 and eight after they collided round 11:12 p.m. AT.

Prasad mentioned the 2 individuals in a Honda Civic died — a 43-year-old man and a 45-year-old girl — each from Falmouth.

He mentioned three individuals within the Nissan Sentra died. A 45-year-old girl from Oxford, N.S., and a 58-year-old man from Nappan, N.S., had been declared useless on the scene. A 50-year-old male passenger from Oxford was taken to hospital and later declared useless.

Prasad mentioned a 29-year-old male passenger from B.C. was airlifted to hospital and is in important situation.

Abraham Zebian, the mayor of West Hants Regional Municipality, mentioned he came upon in regards to the accident after listening to sirens. 

He mentioned dropping so many individuals in a collision is a tragedy. 

“We have misplaced two individuals from our group, that had been a part of our group, and others from the province as effectively,” mentioned Zebian. “It is tragic. You by no means wish to see something like that occur.” 

It is unclear what led to the crash.
