So is that this the start of the tip, the tip of the start or only a little bit of pointless pantomime? Or would possibly it’s all of them, relying in your viewpoint?
On the one hand, Ukraine’s chief has turned up for peace talks with a powerful backroom workforce and a want to barter over the conflict.
From his perspective, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has referred to as the bluff of Vladimir Putin.
“You mentioned you needed to speak, so right here I’m,”is the message.
However Putin is, for the second at the least, nowhere to be seen, and neither are the members of his very prime workforce.
No Sergei Lavrov, as an example, the overseas minister who has sourly dismissed these negotiations as being blighted by “Western puppeteers” controlling Zelenskyy, who he described as “a pathetic individual”.
So is that bluster an indication of absolute real contempt, or a negotiating tactic? Most likely each.
