How to prep for Walmart’s Nintendo Switch 2 restock (if it appears)

Walmart’s Nintendo Switch 2 restock isn’t exactly confirmed for tonight, but it’s looking like we might see some action at 7pm ET.

That means it’s time to get prepped.

The first thing you’ll want to do is get yourself signed into your Walmart Plus account (or sign up to the full paid membership if you haven’t already). Make sure you stay signed in and that all your payment and shipping information is saved.

This will give you the best chance at sailing through checkout as soon as possible. Time is the enemy here – spend too long getting all your details sorted and someone will be further along the process than you. That handheld isn’t yours until you receive an email confirmation, after all.

Walmart could have Nintendo Switch 2 stock at 7pm ET

Reports that Walmart will be offering Nintendo Switch 2 stock at 7pm ET tonight are beginning to circulate, but we haven’t seen any official confirmation from the site itself yet. It would make sense, with Amazon’s own Prime Day deals waiting in the wings – but nothing’s concrete until the site’s page says it.

If these rumors are to be believed, the first round of stock will be restricted to Walmart Plus members (though you may need a full paid subscription rather than the free trial).

Rosalie’s found a bunch of Switch 2 accessories for under $25 already this Prime Day

Official Nintendo Switch 2 accessories may be particularly expensive this generation, but third party gadgets are looking cheaper than ever right now. Rosalie’s found some top cases, screen protectors, chargers, and grips for the Switch 2 and none of them cost more than $25.

If you’re lucky enough to already have a handheld in your arsenal, this is where you need to be looking this Prime Day.

PSA: That EE stock will cost you more in the long run

EE’s Nintendo Switch 2 stock is reserved for its monthly mobile users, which means you can only pick one up if you add it to your existing contract for £22 a month. That’s a 24 month contract, which means you’re paying £528 for that Mario Kart World bundle overall.

That’s not great when you can easily pick up the same bundle for £429.99 elsewhere.

One of the best headsets for Nintendo Switch 2 just hit a record-low price

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1 is our go-to pick for a budget Nintendo Switch 2 headset, and it’s just returned to its lowest price yet at Amazon. You’ll find the cups down to $39.99 from $59.99 for Prime Day, a $20 discount in total.

I’ve only ever seen this saving once before this year, and that was a few months ago. Considering this is one of the best Nintendo Switch headsets available, this is a must-see early deal.

Things are looking good in the UK

The Nintendo Switch 2 is in stock at multiple retailers in the UK right now, but if I had to choose one I’d go with Nintendo.

Very is a close second, also offering both the standalone console and Mario Kart World bundle without any pesky accessories to drive up the final price, but Nintendo will ship your handheld just that little bit quicker. Free Express Delivery only takes 1-2 days when you opt for Ninty, but Very will keep you waiting until July 18.

Here’s why I think we could see more Nintendo Switch 2 restocks this week

I’m more optimistic for Switch 2 stock this week than I have been in a little while. Both Best Buy and Target have been without online restocks for over three weeks now and, while the former has been prioritizing in-person availability, that could mean they’re holding out on us.

In a week when stores like this are desperately competing with Amazon, a nice healthy drop of the hottest gadget on the market would go down especially well.

These retailers want as many eyes on their own sales as possible, and there’s no better way to do that than by dangling that Switch 2-shaped carrot.

This might be the best early Prime Day Switch 2 deal out there right now

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom | $69.99 $47.99 at Woot

Woot has Tears of the Kingdom down to $47.99 at Woot. I know, I know – this is the OG Switch version, not the upgraded-for-4K Switch 2 copy. That game goes for $79.99 by itself – but, crucially, there’s a $10 upgrade available for those who already own the game.

That means you can pick up this discounted copy, upgrade it with a $9.99 booster at Amazon, and enjoy the full Switch 2 experience for a chunk of change less ($22 less to be exact).

Switch 2 stock remains quiet in the US

It’s dead out there in the US, though the UK is seeing an abundance of Nintendo Switch 2 restocks ahead of Prime Day. With no new rumors of any drops coming soon, it’s worth looking to who dropped their stock most recently.

That was Walmart with a fresh wave of stock landing on June 25, which means I’m looking to Best Buy and Target for the next drops. Both of these retailers have had more than three weeks to replenish their online supplies and could well have been holding for this week’s sale event.

PSA: Watch out for inflated prices

Walmart is currently offering a Nintendo Switch 2 for a massive $714. That’s because this retailer allows third party marketplace sellers on its site, and these guys are free to mark up their consoles as much as they like unfortunately. It goes without saying, but the Switch 2 is not a $700+ console and you shouldn’t pay more than MSRP at all.

This is a $449.99 device ($499.99 if you grab a copy of Mario Kart World at the same time) and stock will return.

Here we go!

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been out for just over a month now, but it’s still difficult to find stock online. The US has struggled to keep the handheld on the shelves since the pre-order phase, though the UK is having a much better time of it, but things could shift this week.

As retailers look to compete with Amazon Prime Day, we could well see more Nintendo Switch 2 stock landing over the next few days. I’ll be your eyes and ears for all major drops and restocks, as well as the biggest Prime Day Switch 2 deals for those lucky console owners.
