Tsunami strikes Far East; Fukushima nuclear plant evacuated

FeaturedYesterday2 Views

Hello readers. A massive earthquake measuring 8.7 in magnitude struck the Kamchatka region in Russia’s Far East on Wednesday. The quake, the region’s biggest since 1952, sparked a massive tsunami whose waves are expected to reach 13 feet (4 metres) in height. Tsunami warnings have been issued across much of the Far East, including in Japan, which faced the infamous Fukushima reactor disaster in 2011, while alerts and advisories have been issued for Hawaii, and Alaska, and as far as Chile. As more details come in, check this space for the latest updates.
