Summer construction season continues in Altona, with Mayor Harv Schroeder noting a new project is getting underway today (August 6th) in the town’s north side.
“A section of 2nd St NW, just north of 10th Ave NW, will be closed to northbound traffic for construction for two weeks,” he explained for In the Mayor’s Chair. “Northbound traffic will be redirected to Millennium Drive and 9th St NW.”
The street closure is located near Bunge and Blue Sky Opportunities.
Meanwhile, Schroeder took a moment to also reflect on a very successful Manitoba Sunflower Festival which happened July 25th through 27th.
“It was really good to see so many people out, the weather was great,” he said. “Thank you’s to the local businesses and sponsors for their generous support, to the volunteers and event organizers who made everything run smoothly, namely Sandra Klassen who really took this on again. And to the community for showing up and making the 60th annual Manitoba Sunflower Festival such a fun and memorable weekend.”
