“Why would Ayatollah Ali Khamenei of Iran say that he won the war with Israel, when he knows his statement is ‘a lie, it is not so’,” Trump said. He added that he knew where Khamenei was hiding but chose not to allow Israel or US forces to take his life.
“I knew exactly where Khamenei was sheltered, and would not let Israel, or the U.S. Armed Forces, terminate his life,” he said. Trump also claimed he intervened in Israel’s military operation targeting Tehran. “In the final act of the war, I demanded that Israel bring back a very large group of planes, which were heading directly to Tehran,” he said.
Trump further revealed he had worked on easing sanctions to help Iran recover economically. “During the last few days, I was working on the possible removal of sanctions, and other things, which would have given a much better chance to Iran at a recovery,” he said.
He warned Tehran about its isolation if it stays defiant. “Iran has to get back into the world order flow, or things will only get worse for them,” Trump said.
His remarks highlight deep tensions over Iran’s claims of victory, Israel’s strike plans, and Washington’s role in preventing further escalation.
