Crews battle garage fire in city | News, Sports, Jobs

Dunkirk firefighters were at the scene of a blaze that broke out around noon Friday. Crews got the call at 116 Bucknor St. and arrived to plenty of smoke and an structure that was reportedly fully involved.

Upon arrival, crews found a shed, behind 117 Lord St., on fire that had spread to a detached garage. Firefighters used multiple hose lines and tools to bring the fire under control. The City of Dunkirk was assisted by the Fredonia Fire Department, Alstar EMS, City of Dunkirk Police and City Code Enforcement. There were no injuries. City and Chautauqua County Fire Investigators are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
