The White Home is asserting that the person with protected authorized standing who was mistakenly despatched to an El Salvador jail was a member of the MS-13 gang and alleged he’d been concerned in human trafficking.
Officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in addition to White Home press secretary Karoline Leavitt, acknowledged an “administrative error” in efforts to take away Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia from the U.S.
“The administration maintains the place that this particular person, who was deported to El Salvador and won’t be returning to our nation, was a member of the brutal and cruel MS-13 gang,” Leavitt instructed reporters at a Tuesday briefing.
Leavitt claimed “credible intelligence” confirmed he was concerned in human trafficking and that he was a frontrunner of the infamous MS-13 gang.
“Overseas terrorists wouldn’t have authorized protections in the USA of America anymore,” Leavitt stated.
In a grievance, Abrego Garcia’s attorneys disputed the federal government’s claims.
“Though he has been accused of common ‘gang affiliation,’ the U.S. authorities has by no means produced an iota of proof to help this unfounded accusation,” the grievance said.
