Confidence is key in sport and there are not many players more assured than Carlos Alcaraz right now.

The Spaniard has booked his place in the next round of the French Open with a win today and spoke to TNT Sports about how he feels about his tennis so far this week:

“I am really happy (with my game right now),” he said. “I think I am playing a really high level of tennis, I started the match well. I’m really focused before every match. In the second set he started to play better and better and he broke my serve in the second game. That boost helped him to play better but it was really good to refresh my mind and forget the second set to improve my tennis from there.

“I was thinking about the important things. To enjoy it, have fun out there and not think about the result and the pressure that I might have in the matches. That helped me a lot to move really well and go with the flow in the matches.

“I am feeling comfortable with the matches that I have played. Everything that I have done. I’m really pleased about. I always say that I can be better in everything, even the things I am happy with. The days off and the practice help me to improve the things that I want to and be better.”
