Metcalf Builders has partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada to start construction of a new childcare center today.
The center, which will be located at 2805 Mountain Street in Carson City, is a $2 million project that will turn an existing office building into the largest Smart Start center in western Nevada.
The building will be named the William N. Pennington Center Smart Start, a 7,500-square-foot center that should have capacity for up to 80 kids from newborn to age five.
According to a release, the new center will include five classrooms, a private nursing area and two interactive playgrounds.
The center is expected to open in early 2026.
