SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Beautiful beach weather is in store this Labor Day weekend.
If you are headed to the beach, there is a Beach Hazards Statement in effect until Monday at 11 p.m. Waves at San Diego beaches will be anywhere from 3 to 6 feet with strong rip currents.
Extreme heat and big waves expected in San Diego this Labor Day
The high rip current risk can create dangerous swimming conditions.
Daily highs are expected to continue trending above average through Wednesday of this week.
A Heat Advisory will take effect Monday at 10 a.m. and last until Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the inland valleys. Highs will be 93-100 degrees.

El Cajon: 95°
Julian: 91°
Borrego Springs: 109°
By Tuesday, monsoonal moisture will rebuild, bringing a chance of thunderstorms, especially in the mountains. FOX 5/KUSI Weather models show a 40 percent chance of showers in Julian on Tuesday. Inland models show a 20 percent chance. The chance will linger through the end of the week.
