Hot, muggy this weekend after a storm chance today

Featured6 days ago3 Views

Happy Friday! We’re aiming for another warm and humid day of weather ahead, so make sure you’re dressing in some lighter, more comfortable clothing as you head out the door this morning. Temps are in the 50s/60s with manageable levels of humidity and some patchy dense fog. Otherwise, it’s a bit smoky and hazy this morning. Today’s Air Quality Index will likely register as “Moderate” for everyone throughout most of today.

Highs will hit their stride through the middle to upper 80s with dew points in the 60s. It will be a warm, humid, and somewhat stagnant afternoon of weather. Smoky skies, light south winds, and the chance for an isolated, slow-moving downpour or storm will return for the second half of our Friday. Overnight, the storm threat ends and patchy dense fog makes a comeback with lows in the upper 60s.

Saturday, we will start building in more heat and humidity as a tropical high pressure system continues to dig south. While there’s a chance for a couple of storms that will favor northern New York and Vermont Saturday, most will remain sunny and dry with highs closing in on 90. Overnight into Sunday morning, we’re all drying out and staying uncomfortable with lows near 70.

Sunday afternoon, we’re hiking our way into the upper 80s to low 90s with tolerable dew points in the 50s to near 60. It won’t only be hot and muggy to wrap up the weekend, but we will see a little bit more wildfire smoke returning along with some continued air quality concerns. Make it a wonderfully safe weekend. Do your best to stay cool and hydrated, but don’t forget to check in on others as well.
