The Indiana Fever will return to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center tonight, July 22, for a second time in a week as the Liberty welcomes the return of star hooper Jonquel Jones — hopefully for good this time.
With Jones’ right ankle healed up, the six-foot-six center is slated to return tonight, while the Fever will be without star point guard Caitlin Clark, who has been sidelined with an ongoing groin injury.
The Liberty will march onto their home turf tonight on the heels of a three-win streak with the best record in the Eastern Conference (15-6). All-Stars Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart are expected to start and have a combined 37.4 points per game.
This will be the fourth and final scheduled regular season matchup between the Fever and Liberty. New York won two of the three games, most recently snatching a 98-77 victory on July 16. Clark was also out during that game.

Caitlin Clark will not play tonight, July 22, against the New York Liberty. Clark continues to deal with an injury to her right groin and is undergoing evaluations and meetings with doctors to determine how long her recovery will take, according to the USA TODAY sister newspaper Indianapolis Star.
Caitlin Clark has been actively watching Fever practices from the sidelines and will be at the game tonight vs the New York Liberty but remains inactive. Indiana Fever Coach Stephanie White said the team will have a clearer idea of what the recovery time will look like after Clark’s evaluations are done, IndyStar’s Chloe Peterson reported.
She’s back! Jonquel Jones will play against the Indiana Fever tonight and is officially off the New York Liberty’s injury report after dealing with an ankle injury since last month. The Liberty were 9-0 before the reigning WNBA Finals MVP and 6-foot-6-inch-tall center got hurt.
