Is Jaylen Waddle playing today? Latest injury update on Dolphins wide receiver originally appeared on The Sporting News
The Miami Dolphins are entering Week 3 in desperate need of a win after starting the season 0-2, but they’re in danger of not having one of their top offensive weapons, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

Not much has gone right for the Dolphins so far. The offense in particular has been disappointing considering the playmakers like Waddle and Tyreek Hill that the Dolphins have on the roster.
Speaking of Waddle, the standout wide receiver has been dealing with a shoulder injury since the Week 1 opener against the Indianapolis Colts but powered through that injury and played in Week 2, catching five passes for 68 yards and one score.
But Waddle is once again on the injury report this week and isn’t certain to suit up against the Buffalo Bills. Here’s what we know.
According to the Dolphins’ injury report, Waddle is listed as questionable for Week 3. There hasn’t been any update on his status as of Thursday morning, but we’ll update this page if that becomes available.

Waddle wasn’t on the injury report on Monday but was added on Tuesday and turned in two limited practices before being given the questionable tag.
Waddle getting in at least some work over the last two days suggests he has a shot to play, although it is a bit concerning that he wasn’t initially on the Dolphins’ Week 3 injury report to start the week, which suggests he may have aggravated the injury.
Last week, Waddle was limited twice before turning in a full practice on Friday and playing. It’s possible Miami kept him limited on Tuesday and Wednesday because it’s a short week.
It would obviously be a big blow if Waddle can’t play, as the Dolphins are huge underdogs to the Bills, even with the former first-round pick.

If Waddle does suit up, there will obviously be the risk of re-injury.
If Waddle doesn’t play, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine would likely get the start, as he’s listed as Waddle’s backup on the depth chart. Tyreek Hill should see a bump in targets, also, after getting 13 over the first two games.
