Cain
nears deal for Manhattan hotel. London-based Cain International is nearing a deal to acquire
the 391-key Dominick Hotel (formerly the Trump SoHo) in Manhattan from Los
Angeles-based CIM Group for over $175 million, according to multiple reports.
CIM acquired the property through foreclosure in 2014. If the deal closes, Cain
plans to reposition the property.
Hilton to
debut Spark in CALA. Hilton is partnering with San Juan, Puerto Rico-based Ponce Resorts on the 120-key Spark by Hilton Ponce, marking the upcoming debut of the brand
in the Caribbean and Latin America. The hotel is scheduled to open in late
2025, and HI Development P.R. Corp. will manage the property. Hilton has
approximately 290 operating in the CALA region, with over 145 in its pipeline.
Wyndham
adding 60 hotels in Asia. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has formed a strategic alliance with
Haryana, India-based Cygnett Hotels & Resorts that will introduce its La
Quinta by Wyndham and Registry Collection Hotels brands to the country. It is
expected to add more than 60 hotels across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and
Nepal over the next 10 years. As part of the deal, Wyndham and Cygnett have
signed an exclusive 10-year development agreement with
plans to open over 50 hotels. This will include a mix of new builds and
conversions with the first locations expected to open by the end of 2026.
Wyndham and Cygnett will also introduce Registry Collection Hotels in India
through a non-exclusive 10-year development agreement for 10 hotels. Hotels
will be co-branded under Anamore, Cygnett’s newly launched, luxury brand, with the first hotel expected to open as early as 2026.
Coury
adds 2. Dallas-based
Coury Hospitality has added the 163-key Plunge Beach Resort in
Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida, and the 181-key Residence Inn Alexandria Old
Town South at Carlyle in Alexandria, Virginia, to its management portfolio. The
hotels are owned by affiliates of Newport Beach, California-based T2
Hospitality.
Grand
Canyon Lodge destroyed. The historic Grand Canyon Lodge on the North Rim in Arizona was
destroyed by a wildfire that began on July 4. The lodge, which opened in 1937,
was the only hotel located inside the national park. The fire
had burned between 50 and 80 structures, according to park
officials.
First
voco in Ireland. IHG
Hotels & Resorts is partnering with Nhance to introduce its voco brand to
Ireland with the opening of the 50-key voco The Club – Dublin Gateway. The
converted hotel will be fully rebranded by the end of summer 2025 and will add
to IHG’s portfolio in Ireland, which now stands at 10 open and pipeline
properties.
First
Kimpton in Indonesia. IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with PT Mustika
Adiperkasa and GHS K.K to introduce the first Kimpton in Indonesia. The 101-key
Kimpton Bali Ubud is scheduled to open its doors in early 2026. IHG has 31
operating hotels and a further 11 in the pipeline in Indonesia.
BWH adds
in Egypt. BWH Hotels
is partnering with Giza, Egypt-based El Gamal Group to launch a new hotel
project under the Best Western Plus brand in Al Haram, Egypt. The 100-key hotel
will be located directly in front of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
