Newly released video from ICE shows the moment Homeland Security Investigations officers detained a man accused of assaulting a US Border Patrol agent.
The Department of Homeland Security identified the man as Christian Damian Cerno-Camacho.
Agents boxed in Cerno-Camacho’s vehicle, while his partner and a toddler were inside, at an intersection in Los Angeles’ Boyle Heights neighborhood. Agents can then be seen around it with guns drawn.

“Clearly this administration, this government is not following the rule of law it’s engaging in terror, violence and acting outside the scope of its authority,” Christian Contreras, attorney for the family, said in a news conference Wednesday afternoon.
Cerno-Camacho also faces charges for allegedly “fleeing to avoid prosecution and damage to federal property after he attempted to flee in his vehicle,” according to a post on X from ICE.
Surveillance video obtained by CNN on Wednesday shows the moment from a different angle.

There was minor damage to the vehicle’s right side, where the toddler was sitting in a car seat, video shared with CNN from a local organization showed.
The incident was a “targeted arrest of a violent rioter who punched a CBP officer,” said Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin.
When Homeland Security Investigations tried to take the man into custody for the alleged assault, he tried to flee, she said.
