Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Cochrane as steady showers continue to move through the area.
An additional 10 to 20 millimetres of rain is expected before conditions improve later tonight.
The ongoing rainfall could lead to localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas and spots with poor drainage.
Drivers are being urged to slow down, use headlights when visibility drops and keep a safe distance from other vehicles.
There is also a risk of washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts, particularly along rural routes and less-travelled roads.
Residents are advised to keep an eye on the forecast and stay alert for any updates or new weather alerts.
Reports of severe weather can be sent to ABstorm@ec.gc.ca or shared on X using #ABStorm.
